KINGSTAR GLASS
Easy Clean Glass | Low-Maintenance Architectural Glass with Hydrophobic & Oleophobic Coating from KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS
KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS Easy Clean Glass is a high-performance architectural glass featuring an advanced hydrophobic and oleophobic nano-coating. This innovative surface treatment creates a smooth, non-stick barrier that repels water, oil, and dirt—preventing grime from adhering to the glass surface in the first place. Unlike traditional self-cleaning glass that relies on UV light and rainfall to function, Easy Clean Glass is designed to make routine cleaning significantly easier and more effect
Easy Clean Glass is architectural glass treated with a transparent, durable nano-coating that alters the surface properties to minimize dirt and stain adhesion. The coating creates a super-smooth, non-stick surface with two key characteristics:
The easy-clean functionality is achieved through a durable nano-scale coating applied to the glass surface. This coating features a very high water contact angle—typically exceeding 110°—which causes water to form spherical droplets that roll off easily. As the water rolls, it carries loose dirt and debris with it. Unlike hydrophilic self-cleaning glass, which requires photocatalytic reactions and rainwater to function, the easy-clean coating provides immediate, consistent performance regardless of sunlight exposure or rainfall. The coating also fills microscopic surface irregularities, creating an ultra-smooth finish that prevents dirt, grime, and stains from bonding to the glass.

Q1: What is the difference between Easy Clean Glass and Self-Cleaning Glass?
A: While often used interchangeably, they are different technologies. Self-cleaning glass uses a titanium dioxide coating that requires UV light to photocatalytically break down organic dirt, which is then washed away by rain. It depends on sunlight and rainfall—making it less effective in shaded areas or dry climates. Easy Clean Glass, by contrast, uses a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating that prevents dirt and grime from sticking in the first place. It works immediately and consistently in any weather, making routine cleaning much easier and reducing cleaning frequency regardless of climate conditions.
Q2: How long does the Easy Clean coating last and does it require reapplication?
A: The Easy Clean coating on KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS products is designed for long-term durability. Independent third-party testing confirms an expected outdoor service life of 10 years. The coating is chemically bonded to the glass surface during manufacturing and will not wash off or degrade under normal weather exposure. No reapplication is needed during the product's service life. For projects requiring extended warranties, please consult our technical team for specific warranty terms.
Q3: Can Easy Clean Glass be tempered, laminated, or combined with other glass products?
A: Yes. KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS Easy Clean Glass can be fully processed into tempered glass, laminated glass, and insulating glass units (IGUs). The coating is applied and cured before further processing, maintaining its performance through tempering and lamination. This allows you to combine easy-clean functionality with safety glass requirements, thermal insulation, or solar control performance in a single integrated glass solution.
These products leave your shower enclosure clean longer and make cleaning easier. Easy Clean is a liquid that is applied to glass at the manufacturer. It chemically bonds with the glass as it cures, providing a durable layer of protection to keep the glass cleaner and making it easier to clean.
Tempered or toughened glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the interior into tension. Such stresses cause the glass, when broken, to shatter into small granular chunks instead of splintering into jagged shards as ordinary annealed glass does. The granular chunks are less likely to cause injury.
No tong marks on the glass as adopts the horizontally tempering process.
5 times harder than ordinary annealed glass.
Once breakage occurs, the glass disintegrates into small cubical fragments which are relatively armless to human body.
It withstands abrupt change of temperature. For example, a piece of 5mm tolerate the temperature variations within the range of 200°C.
Tempered glass should under go heat soak test to improve safety in use.
Thickness: 3-19mm
Size: Min size 300*200mm,Max size 3300*15000mm
Tempered glass is used for its safety and strength in a variety of applications, including passenger vehicle windows, shower doors, aquariums, architectural glass doors and tables, refrigerator trays, mobile phone screen protectors, bulletproof glass components, diving masks, and plates and cookware.
