Production Process of Tempered Laminated Glass

Tempered laminated glass, often referred to as safety laminated glass, is produced by combining two essential glass technologies: tempering and lamination. The process begins with tempered glass sheets, which are created by heating float glass to over 600°C and rapidly cooling it. This treatment increases the glass strength by four to five times compared to ordinary glass, making it more resistant to thermal stress and impact.

Once tempered, the glass is processed into laminated panels by sandwiching a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) or EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) interlayer between two or more tempered sheets. The assembly is then placed into an autoclave where heat and pressure bond the layers permanently. Even when broken, the interlayer holds the fragments together, ensuring safety and structural stability.
