KINGSTAR GLASS
Silk Printed Glass | Ceramic Frit Decorative Safety Glass for Architectural Applications from KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS
KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS Silk Printed Glass, also known as ceramic frit glass or screen-printed glass, is a decorative safety glass product manufactured by applying ceramic enamel onto the glass surface through a silk screen printing process, then permanently fusing it into the glass during the thermal tempering process at temperatures of 680-700°C. The result is a highly durable, scratch-resistant, and fade-resistant decorative glass where the pattern becomes an integral part of the glass surfac
Silk printed glass, also referred to as ceramic frit glass or screen-printed glass, is a decorative glass product created by printing ceramic frit enamel onto the glass surface through a silk screen and then permanently fusing it during the tempering or heat-strengthening process. The ceramic ink becomes a permanent part of the glass surface—it will not scratch, peel, or fade over time.
Silk printed glass is produced in compliance with EN 12150 (thermally toughened safety glass) and can be further processed into insulating glass units or laminated safety glass. KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS silk printed glass is available in a full range of colors, patterns, and thicknesses, making it suitable for both interior and exterior architectural applications.
The manufacturing of silk printed glass follows a specific sequence:
All cutting, drilling, and edge work must be completed before printing and tempering. Once the glass is tempered, no further fabrication is possible.

Q1: What is the difference between silk printed glass and painted glass?
A: Silk printed glass uses ceramic frit enamel that is permanently fused into the glass surface during the tempering process at 680-700°C. The pattern becomes an integral part of the glass and will never scratch, peel, or fade. Silk printed glass is fully compatible with tempering and can be used for both interior and exterior applications. Painted glass uses organic paint applied to the glass surface; it cannot be tempered and is generally limited to interior applications.
Q2: Can silk printed glass be used for exterior facades, and will the pattern fade over time?
A: Yes. Silk printed glass is specifically designed for exterior applications including building facades, curtain walls, and spandrel panels. The ceramic frit is fused into the glass surface during tempering and is resistant to moisture, abrasion, and UV radiation. The pattern will not fade, scratch, or peel, making it highly durable for long-term exterior exposure.
Q3: What patterns and colors are available for silk printed glass?
A: KINGSTAR BUILDING GLASS offers a wide range of standard patterns including dots, lines, stripes, and custom graphics. Gradient frits and full-coverage opaque options are also available. Colors are available in a wide range of RAL standards, including matte and metallic finishes. Custom colors and patterns can be developed to meet specific project requirements.
Insulated glass is a glass assembly composed of two or more pieces of glass, evenly separated by effective support, sealed with a binder around the glass layer to form a dry gas space between the glass layers.Glass components can be made of clear glass, tinted glass, reflective glass, laminated glass, tempered glass, etc.according to customer's request.
Its excellent efficiency in solar heat insulation, greatly reduces cooling loads.
Dry air inside the enclosure renders the surface free from misting.
More excellent efficiency will be if fill in argon or other inert gases.rom misting.
